The start of the year brings new beginnings, gym memberships and most importantly planning your next getaway, hello procrastination! If you are looking for wanderlust inspo and sweet international digs, Instagram has released the ten most Instagrammed hotels of 2016 from around the globe and they are nothing short of impressive!
Instagram came up with the list by looking at the total number of geo-tagged hotels and found the ones cited the most. In case you didn’t already know, people really like Las Vegas, big time. Ocean views, huge gardens and never-ending pools also seem to be a theme (gasp), and of course these glitzy metropolises all set the bar for hotels of the 5 and 6 star variety.
There’s some jaw droppers in there, so set your sale alerts now for these seriously snap-worthy stays. If the numbers speak, then you won’t be disappointed! We’re already researching ‘get rich quick’ schemes, although our hot tip is to visit during off season and sign up directly to the hotel mailing lists, as well as your Expedia and Booking.com alerts. Plus don’t forget you’ll need cheap flights.

10. The Venetian Macao
Glitzy Macao is China’s answer to Las Vegas and The Venetian is the iconic lust stay when in town. The hotel keeps with the opulence of the Las Vegas namesake and has three indoor canals, singing gondoliers, 30 restaurants, and a million square feet of shopping- we can see how the hotel that resembles its own city has so many Insta tags.
9. Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel
You know it’s going to be an ostentatious stay when the hotel references themselves as a hedonistic paradise, but isn’t that what makes for a perfect Ibiza selfie? With suites strategically positioned around a giant pool and stage, you know you’re not going to be getting an early one. You can catch cat naps in between dancing, as resident DJs play outside your room all summer and recharge with a Euro-Japanese fusion restaurant, steakhouse, and oyster bar.
8. Wynn Las Vegas
This casino-resort is considered one of the more elegant hotels in sin city attracting celebrities, millionaire high-rollers and even royals, so you’ll have some extra opps for Insta snaps.
With it’s own gambling halls, gigantic statues of Roman leaders, lush gardens, waterfalls and plenty of pools, its easy to see how it took out the number one spot in the Conde Nast Traveler 2016 top Las Vegas Hotels survey. The popular hotel boasts a number of world-class accolades including Michelin, Forbes, Mobil and AAA ratings, enticing guests to a true fine-dining experience with nine on-site restaurants.
7. Fontainebleau Miami Beach
‘WOW’ is the reaction you’ll get from everyone if you post some Insta #views whilst staying at this jaw dropping hotel. The luxe property, designed in the 1950’s has ‘to die for views’ of Miami beach and buzzing nightlife. The all-white rooms scream South Beach retreat and the 12 restaurants, not to mention ‘pools for days’ make for the perfect shot to leave everyone back home jelly.
6. Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino
Trying to decide between a trip to Vegas or Paris? Turns out you can combine the two, and that’s not tacky at all. Be sure to pack the selfie sticks for this one! An iconic fixture on the glitter strip complete with a half-sized Eiffel Tower, a French garden (with pool), and a stroll down a Parisian-style street without leaving the hotel. 5. Caesars Palace Las Vegas
The well-known hotel has managed to retain an exclusive high-end appeal and clientele, whilst still keeping with a strong Ancient Roman theme. The extravagance includes grandiose Roman statutes found in the five-acre Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis, featuring seven pools-well who wants to swim in the same pool every day like a Roman peasant!
Needless to say you’ll be able to get enough snaps to last a year on Instagram (so many #tbt ‘s) featuring the lavish rooms, OTT pools, world-class shopping, extravagant entertainment, gourmet dining and sizzling nightlife.
4. Atlantis The Palm, Dubai
This opulent oasis in the international city of bling was made for Instagram. The crowning jewel of on the iconic man made island of Palm Jumeirah features views of the Arabian Gulf and a giant aquarium with 65,000 sea creatures, a water park, and a high-end shopping mall all on the premises. In true Dubai style it takes decadence to the next level, featuring massive shells and oceanic decor and is one of the few hotels that have suites under the water, with views out to the aquarium. Because that’s normal.
3. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
A true Sin City experience that needs every moment documented on Instagram! The hotel features rooms with wraparound private terraces, three skyline-view pools, a three-story bar built around a giant chandelier and a nightclub with an interactive show called “Rose. Rabbit. Lie.” The real question is can we puh-lease live here?

It’s no surprise that one of the most visited landmarks in New York would have a killer hotel that attracts a lot of snap happy love. The lavish interior features sleek lines, sexy lighting, bold colours and a roof terrace for that perfect selfie/skyline combo. Come during summer and you might be lucky enough to try out their glamping experience on the roof overlooking Times Square!
1. MGM Grand Las Vegas
The signature 45-foot bronze lion is a tell tale sign that you have reached a destination of pure luxury and grandiose glitz! The massive emerald-colored casino resort also boasts super modern rooms, four pools, three whirlpools and a river. It is ‘The Strip’s’ most colossal resort, featuring the hottest acts in town, gambling, shows, celebrity chefs and an electric nightlife in their many night clubs. Yep you might just get lost in #InstaLand in the worlds Most Instagrammed Hotel! But hey, we’re pretty sure that’s not a bad place to be.
